Building on the great success of our new route, the Moonlight Bike Ride is back for our 23rd year with a family-friendly route that includes the rider-favorite loop underground!
Come join hundreds of other riders to experience this unique ride. With an expected 700 riders in 2017, we were disappointed when weather conditions resulted in a last minute cancellation of the event. The Moonlight Bike ride continues to gain in popularity, with many riders and volunteers returning year after year. We anticipated another great turnout in 2018 with 750-850 riders anticipated.
The Lenexa Optimist Club continues to partner with the Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department to present the 23rd Lenexa Moonlight Bike Ride on July 21, 2018. We’ve extended the route a bit and have added a few extra miles.
This family-friendly 12-mile bicycle ride on Lenexa streets starts in Old Town Lenexa at 10:00pm and includes a loop underground through the Meritex caves, just west of Renner Boulevard.
An optional “all you can eat” pancake feed provides a fun late night breakfast after the ride. Pre-event entertainment is planned during check-in for the ride along with the pre-ride “Light the Night” contest.
SAG support will provide transportation back to the start/end location for riders unable to complete the ride.
A helmet, front light and rear reflector are required to ride.
Pancake feed after the ride is $6 per person.
“Light the Night” Contest
